Cardiac Care Technology measures how well a heart is functioning and can monitor heart rate. Technicians here measure how well a patient's heart is functioning. Cardiac care technicians are the medical professionals who administer various tests that assist the doctor in diagnosis.Cardiac care technicians assist physicians during invasive cardiovascular testing, where a tube is inserted into one of the blood vessels that carry blood into the heart. Once doctors insert the catheter, technicians monitor patients' heart rates and blood pressure, looking for any signs of trouble or distress.Eligibility: Two year Pre-University examination or equivalent as recognized by University of Health Sciences with, Physics, Chemistry and Biology as subjects of study.OR Equivalent
After completion of the course Bachelor of Science in Anaesthesia and operation theatre technology , the individual will find a challenging career in a hospital, nursing homes, trauma/emergency centers, Intensive Care units, CSSD etc. Graduates are eligible for employment overseas where their qualifications, training and experience are highly regarded. With further experience, graduates may be employed by medical equipment manufacturers and development specialists
Radiologist, Physicians and surgeons who learn the highly-advanced skill of interpreting and diagnosing medical imaging are called radiologists. Assisted by technicians, radiologists use mammography, x-ray, MRI, fluoroscopy, and CT scans to identify illness and disease. A Radiologic Technologist, also known as medical radiation technologist and as radiographer, performs imaging of the human body for diagnosis or treating medical problems. The common subjects of basics in Anatomy, Physiology, Pathology, Microbiology, Surgery & Medicine taught in the 1st year will prepare the student to understand the nature of disease. The hands on experience in the department of Radiology from day one onwards will enable the student to understand the nature of the illness beginning with routine imaging to CT and MRI scans. The students will receive excellent and exhaustive training in these fields to be able to assist senior radiologists.
The quality of medical care has improved tremendously in the last few decades due to the advances in technology, thus creating fresh challenges in the field of healthcare. It is now widely recognized that health service delivery is a team effort involving both clinicians and non-clinicians, and is not the sole duty of physicians and nurses.1Professionals that can competently handle sophisticated machinery and advanced protocols are now in high demand. In fact, diagnosis is now so dependent on technology, that allied and healthcare professionals (AHPs) are vital to successful treatment delivery. Effective delivery of healthcare services depends largely on the nature of education, training and appropriate orientation towards community health of all categories of health personnel, and their capacity to function as an integrated team.
B.Sc. Physician Assistant is an undergraduate Medical course. Physician Assistant is a skilled health care professional who is qualified with academic and clinical training to provide health care services under the supervision of a specialist. The training that they receive equips them to provide diagnostic, therapeutic and preventive healthcare services. The course is designed to train the student in examining and treating patients, order and interpret laboratory x-rays and perform the diagnosis. Physician Assistant also has several other responsibilities such as treating minor injuries, preparing and preserving progress notes and performing certain managerial duties.
Critical care technologist has a variety of roles to play and they work in different healthcare settings. They take care of the equipment and the monitoring devices that are used by patients requiring intensive care or are in a critical condition. They ensure that the equipment and the life support system attached to a critical care patient are all functioning correctly. Most of these medical devices such as CAT scanners, dialysis machines, etc. are set by the critical care technologists. In case of any malfunction or error in such machines, the critical care technologist repairs as well as performs maintenance checks and calibrations, if required.
